IOTA - Rose Montana Landry Broussard, 78, passed away after a long and valiant battle with Alzheimer’s. She died on November 23, 2009 at Southwind Nursing Home, her residence of the past several years.

Rose “Montan” was born in Church Point to Louis and Lillian Chapman Landry on February 7, 1931. Orphaned as a child she was reared by her aunt and adoptive mother, Hilda “Dean” Landry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lillian Landry her first husband, Alexander Vallier; and her second husband Junius Broussard. Left to mourn her passing are her loving mother, Hilda “Dean” Landry of Church Point, and many, many family and friends. Rose chose to become an anatomical donor in hopes of playing a small part in finding a cure for Alzheimers. Her remains have been entrusted to Tulane University. Upon her return, her remains shall be interred at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Iota. A grave side funeral service will be held at that time
