Rev. Charlie Floyd will conduct the funeral services and the committal service at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation may be observed from 1 p.m. Wednesday until 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. Thursday until service time. Mrs. Verret was born February 9, 1924 to the late Hamer and Ella Frances Jernigan Stewart in Kingstree, S.C.. Eva left South Carolina at the age of 19 and moved to Baltimore. While vacationing in San Francisco with a friend, she met her husband Bob and they were married in 1952. After surviving Hurricane Audrey in Cameron they moved to Crowley and raised their three daughters.
She is survived by her three daughters Cindy Linscombe and her husband Bobby, Barbara Miller and Debra Marquart and her husband Byron all of Crowley; nine grandchildren Chris Lege, Ann Lege, Robert Linscombe, Lisa LeBlanc, Nick Miller and his wife Laura, Katie Hanks and her husband Amon, Matt Miller, Maggie Miller, Addie Guidry and her husband Kirk, Amy Marquart and Eric Marquart and his wife Mikki; three great grandchildren Madeline and Emma Hanks and Addison Guidry.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. “Bob” Verret; her parents; and eight brothers and sisters.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care of her caregivers Verna Simon, Roxanne Bourque, Virginia Semenuk, Dr. Mulraj Katira and Heart of Hospice.
