Fans can view items for the auction in the Hall of the Fame room at Alex Box Stadium. Bidding takes place from when gates open through the end of the seventh inning. LSU coaches Les Miles and Van Chancellor along with many former Tiger athletes have donated items for the fundraising event. A complete list of items is listed below.
Alexander has already been instrumental in organizing a fundraising event through LSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee that rose over $5,000 on January 31st after she participated in a week-long mission trip with teammate Natalie leyoub in Haiti during the Christmas season.
“Since I went to Haiti, the earthquake hit closer to home, because many of the people I met are now without homes, the little belongings they had, and family,” Alexander said. “I completely fell in love with Haiti in the week I was there and Haiti stole a piece of my heart that is continuing to break for my brother and sisters in Christ and the people of Haiti who are struggling. It's comforting to know that there's so much love, prayer, and concern for the people of Haiti on the LSU campus and the United States.”
Lespwa Worldwide is a registered 501 (c) 3 organization and derives its name from the Creole word meaning “hope”. Its mission is to bring hope to the children of Haiti. Donations also can be made online at www.lespwaworldwide.com for those unable to attend Friday’s baseball game.
