Jennings authorities have made an arrest in the shooting of a 14-year-old Rayne native.

Kenneth Pattum, 20, of Jennings was booked on charges of attempted manslaughter.

The case is still under investigation and further charges may be pending.

The victim was allegedly shot twice in the upper body about 5 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex at the intersection of Granger and Louise Street, south of Jennings.

Sources said the boy was airlifted to a Lafayette hospital where he remains on life support.
