Author Leo Honeycutt, who wrote the authorized biography of former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards, will be at the Grand Opera House of the South at 1 p.m. Saturday to sign copies of his book ‘Edwin Edwards: Governor of Louisiana’. He will be accompanied by Anna Edwards, the former governor’s daughter. A question and answer session will follow.
“We are very honored to have Leo and Anna coming to discuss the book and give us their personal experiences,” said the Opera House’s Executive Director Kim Gielen Gattle. “Regardless of how people view Edwards, he was an important political figure in Louisiana’s history and will be remembered as one of our most influential leaders.”
Following his appearance at the Opera House, Honeycutt and Edwards will make their way across the street to Cafe Joppe on Parkerson Ave. for another signing session.
Honeycutt’s book has been selling at a torrid pace with the first 10,000 copies selling out in three days. Honeycutt says the soaring sales can be attributed to the ‘enigma that is Edwards’.
Copies of Honeycutt’s book will be sold at both locations.
