State Police said Adrienne Reed, 36, died from injuries suffered when her car crossed the center line of La. 13 south of Eunice and collided head-on with a pickup driven by a Crowley man.
According to State Police, Reed was northbound when for an unknown reason her 2000 Lincoln crossed the center line near La. 370, striking the Nissan truck driven by Jesse Collins, 47.
Police reported Reed was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Alcohol use is unknown at this time, police said, and the investigation remains open.
