Egan - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church of Iota for Burton Allen Trumps, 92, who died at his residence in Egan at 11 p.m. Sunday May 23, 2010.

Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of Saint Joseph Catholic Church will celebrate the Mass and the Committal services at the Church Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The family request visitation be observed Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Trumps was born June 1, 1917 in Acadia Parish to the late Ambrose and Annie Regan Trumps. He grew up on the farm and was a rice and soybean farmer and cattleman all his life. He was a lifelong member of Saint Michael’s Chapel in Egan, a member of the Woodmen of the World and a graduate of Iota High School. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Beatrice Fontenot Trumps; 3 daughters Barbara Wedgeworth-Bergeron and her husband Joseph of Sulphur, Katherine Cart and her husband Bill Schock of Arizona and Brenda Rohrbach and her companion Arthur Dane Guidry of Egan; a brother James Leroy Trumps of Alexandria; six grandchildren Michael Wedgeworth, Jr. and his wife Shonda, Christopher Klumpp and his wife Celeste, Brandi Vidrine and her husband Dustin, Jonathan Rohrbach and his wife Frances, Matthew Rohrbach and his wife Heidi and Blaine Marie Rohrbach; six great-grandchildren Alex, Sophie and Gabriel Wedgeworth, Carter and Olivia Vidrine and Morgan Rohrbach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters Edna Oliver, Hazel Richard, Laura Clement and Bertha Doucet; five brothers Philip, Anthony, Buck, Amos and John Trumps; a great-grandson John Wilson Klumpp and a son-in-law John Rohrbach.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to His caregivers Frieda Gotte and Lamm Home Health and Journey Hospice.
