SHERBURNE W.M.A. SOUTH FARM AREA CLOSED DUE TO RISING RIVER

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has closed the South Farm area on the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area (WMA) due to flooding conditions. Floodwaters from the Atchafalaya River are approaching or overtopping levees and roads in this area. Public access during these high water events could cause damage to the levees and roads as well as pose concerns to public safety.

LDWF is monitoring water levels daily and will reopen this area when waters have receded.
