On Monday morning, officers of the Abbeville Police Department received complaints of vehicles being burglarized and a prowler in one of our neighborhoods. Officers responded to the area of the reports and their investigation led to the arrest of a suspect in possession of many of the items stolen from the vehicles.

Officers arrested and booked Justin Ballard. 110 Martin Luther King Drive, Abbeville for two counts of Burglary of a Vehicle and Resisting an Officer. The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be filed.

Chief Coleman wishes to commend the officers working the burglaries for their quick response and apprehension of the suspect. Chief Coleman further commends the citizens calling in to the department to report this suspicious activity.

The Citizen and Law Enforcement working together makes our city a safer place and help reduce the amount of all types of criminal activity by striking fear into the heart of the criminal.
