Jose Paredes of Church Point was operating this 1992 Isuzu Rodeo when for unknown reasons the driver applied the brakes and abruptly turned the steering to the left and entered a ditch on the east side of the roadway. The vehicle then roated and Paredes was ejected onto the roadway.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m., when twenty- three year old Jose M. Vazquez Paredes, of Church Point, La. was operating a 1992 Isuzu Rodeo southbound on La 1108 approaching the intersection of La 95. For unknown reasons, Paredes applied the brakes, and abruptly turned the steering to the left and entered the ditch on the east side of the roadway. The vehicle then rotated, ejecting Paredes onto the roadway. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol is suspected in the crash.
This is the 13th fatal crash and the thirty- fourth fatality Troop I has investigated thus far in 2008.
