American Legion Post #77, Commander Henry “Pete” Melancon, will sponsor its 25th annual

community Pre-Frog Festival Blood Drive on Saturday, Aug. 30. United Blood Services

will be drawing blood from 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rayne American Legion Home.

All donors will be given a Frog Festival themed t-shirt and a chance to win a new GMC

Canyon Pickup Truck donated by Courtesy Automotive Group. Rayne State Bank, Bank of

Commerce, and Rayne Building and Loan provide the funds for the t-shirts.

Everyone in the community is encouraged to donate and give the “gift of life.” It’s a great

feeling to know that by donating blood you may have saved a life. Remember, there is no

substitute for blood- should you or your loved one need blood you will be grateful for blood

donors.
