The bride is the daughter of Warren and the late Lena Vasseur of Tee Mamou. She is the granddaughter of the late Abram Ardoin and the late Bertile Ardoin and the late Joseph Vasseur and the late Enedine Vasseur.
The groom is the son of Michael and Patricia Istre of Abbeville. He is the grandson of the late Whitney J. Faulk and the late Eula Faulk and the late Kerney Istre Sr., and Elvina Istre of Gueydan.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory gown of satin Peau De Soie. The scoop neckline and spaghetti straps were outlined with crystals and seeded pearls. The front also featured insets of crystals and seeded pearls. The embellishments continued down the center back accenting the full A-line skirt and chapel length veil of imported silk illusion. The bride carried a bouquet of antique roses and calla lilies. Included in the bouquet was a rosary of Saworski crystals made especially for the bride by the groom’s mother.
Matrons of Honor were Monica Fruge, sister of the bride and Melanie Prejean, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Patti Cannino, Erica Guidry, Hanna Fontenot, and Christi Hebert, all friends of the bride. The flower girl was Chloe Bullock, a friend of the bride.
The groom’s best men were Nicholas Hebert, friend of the groom and Aaron Fruge, nephew of the bride. Groomsmen were Nick Theriot, Jason Williams, John Claiborne, all friends of the groom and Michael Fruge, nephew of the bride. The ring bearer was Brennan Prejean, godchild of the groom.
Ushers were Eric Fruge, brother-in-law of the bride, and Trevor Fruge, godchild of the bride.
The scriptures were read by Carolyn Darbonne, sister of the bride and Roselyn Hummert, friend of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Nona Griffen and Norbert Istre, godparents of the groom. Music for the ceremony was provided by organist and vocalist Sharee D. Huter.
After a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
