Hebert arrested on burglary charges

Chief Stephen Perry of the Kaplan Police reported that Kevin Burns Hebert, 26, of 1012 N. Trahan, Kaplan, La., was arrested on a warrant issued by the Kaplan Police Detective Division for burglary of the Kaplan City Court.

The arrest was approximately three months after the burglary was reported to the Kaplan Police Department.

A large amount of money had been reported missing in the burglary.

No evidence was recovered after the arrest.

Hebert is also being investigated for other pending burglaries.

On August 18, the Kaplan Police Department received an anonymous tip that a drug transaction was being observed on Cushing Street.

A description of the occupants and vehicle was relayed to the officers and as the officers were enroute to the scene, they observed the same type vehicle commit a traffic violation.

A stop was made and consent was granted for a search of the vehicle where a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was seized.

During a pat down, a small bag containing Schedule I narcotic pills was also seized.

Arrested was Trisha Haley, 19, of 118 N. Foote, Kaplan, and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule I narcotics, simple possession of marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Justin Hebert, 26, 213 Montgomery, Kaplan, was arrested and charged with simple possession of marijuana second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and stop sign violation.

Fred Boutin, 24, 213 Montgomery, Kaplan, charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chief Perry wishes to thank these individuals who report these crimes to the police department.
