According to State Police, Kayla Fontenot died at 9:35 p.m. Sept. 20 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Fontenot was a rear passenger in a Ford SUV that was struck head-on in a crash on La. 13.
The driver of the SUV, Melanie Sayers, 50, of Mamou, died at the scene.
The crash occurred on La. 13 at La. 374 when Travis David, 21, of Eunice, allegedly pulled out into the intersection and struck a truck driven by Roderick Fontenot, 68, of Mamou. Fontenot’s truck lost control and struck Sayers’ SUV.
