Vermilion Health Care honors resident veterans

Vermilion Health Care nursing home recently held their annual Veteran’s Day Celebration.  Veteran’s honored this year included  Paul Dubois, Yolton Trahan, Kenneth Broussard, Henry Miller, Dudley Broussard, Ray DeMarcy, and  Joe Desormeaux.  Widows  of  veterans  honored  included Rosalie Broussard, Hilda Hebert, Dorothy Hebert, Agnes Hebert, Agnes M. Hebert, Della Meaux, Irene Hoffpauier, Irene David, Betty Couvillion, Lannie Brown, Anoncial Tarver, Hazel Hebert, Egnolia Richoux, and Wanita Guidry. All  veterans and their survivors were  honored with a 21 gun salute and the playing of Taps. Vermilion Parish Honor Guard and  the North Vermilion High School band also participated in the  celebration.  Following the ceremony, gumbo and potato salad were  served.
