The Warriors entered the playoffs as the 3rd seed and were hosting district rival Bogalusa after beating the Lumberjacks on the road last week 35-19. The Warriors had a little tougher time with their foes from Washington Parish the second time around.
Bogalusa led 9-7 after the first quarter but Amite claimed a 22-15 halftime lead and then went on to win the game 43-34. Amite kept the ball on the ground for most of the game as the Warriors attempted just eight passes and rushed the ball 35 times.
The Warriors piled up 306-yards of total offense in the game. But one thing that continues to plague Amite is penalties. The Warriors were flagged thirteen times for 135-yards against Bogalusa, which turned out to be more yards than the Lumberjacks were able to rush for.
In the last two weeks the Warriors have been penalized twenty-nine times for 285-yards but Amite has been able to overcome those penalties to remain undefeated on the season.
The Warriors improved to a perfect 10-0 on the season and are set to host a Regional Playoff Game this Friday Night against North DeSoto. North DeSoto (8-3) is the 14th seed in the Class 3A Playoffs.
Last week North DeSoto defeated Crowley 32-6 to advance to play Amite this week. The winner of the Warriors versus the North DeSoto Game will play the winner of the Lutcher versus St. Louis Game.
If Lutcher wins the Bulldogs would come to Amite. If St. Louis wins the Warriors would have to travel in the state quarter-finals.
