The duo continues to thrill audiences, only now it’s at the collegiate level.
The twins, who helped lead Iota to four straight Sweet 16 appearances and two state titles, are working their magic for McNeese State, both starting in four the Cowgirls’ five games this year.
The twins each scored in double figures Tuesday, helping lead the Cowgirls to a 71-63 victory over Houston Baptist. Ashlyn finished with 13 points and was five of seven from field while connecting on all three of her 3-point attempts. Caitlyn went four of eight from the field and scored 11 points. She also led the team with five assists.
Caitlyn scored a career-high 22 points last week against Arkansas Monticello. In that game, she was perfect from the field, making all five of her shots, including three 3-pointers and all nine of her free throws. For those efforts, she was an honorable mention selection in this week’s Southland Conference Player of the Week honors.
Caitlyn is currently 22 for 52 from the floor, seven of 17 from beyond the three-point line, 17 of 22 from the free throw line and has 17 assists and eight steals in five games. She is averaging 13.6 points per contest.
Ashlyn is close behind, making 15 of 40 shots from the floor, nine of 22 from three-point land, eight of 13 from the charity stripe and has nine assists and six steals. She is averaging 9.4 points per game.
