Steve Broussard, Travis Jay Trahan, Willie “Buster” Uriegas, Jr., Neille Touchet Steve Broussard

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 04, 2008 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church for Stephen H. Broussard, 52. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery with Reverend Greg Chauvin officiating the services.

Stephen Henry Broussard was born on July 28, 1956, in Abbeville, LA.

He passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2008. Steve was a devoted son, brother, uncle and great-uncle, as well as a good friend to many. He is survived by his mother, Marguerite Hebert Broussard; His brother, Gregory (Lavelle) Broussard; his nephew Christopher Broussard and his wife Courtney Broussard; Mary Broussard, her husband, Glenn; his nephew Jeffery Broussard; his great niece, Maicie Sutton Broussard; and his great nephew, Jacob Justin Chaucey. Steve is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a great number of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lavelle Broussard.

Steve was a former journalist for the Abbeville Meridional and other publications. He was an avid reader, sports enthusiast, and cook. Steve was a passionate devotee of the LSU Tigers. He was also a wordsmith, and loved to debate anybody on any topic. He was a graduate of Vermillion Catholic High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Travis Jay Trahan

October 22, 1984 ~ December 1, 2008

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Travis Jay Trahan, 24, who died Monday, December 1, 2008, from the results of an automobile accident.

He will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Todd St. Julien, Steven St. Julien, Dwight Guillory, Luke Trahan, Brett Bouillion and Brad Laperouse. Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Picard and Ken Picard.

He is survived by his father, Kirk Wally Trahan and his wife Genevieve of St. Martinville; mother, Bonnie Dean Menard of Abbeville; daughter, Madison Nicole Trahan of Abbeville; paternal grandmother, Gernice Roy Trahan of St. St. Martinville; half brother, Luke Anthony Trahan of St. Martinville; step brother, Brett Michael Bouillion of St. Martinville; and step sister, Crystal Ann Laperouse of St. Martinville.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lovenia Millerman and Marcel Menard; paternal grandfather, Wilbert Trahan; and one daughter, Paige Lewing Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Willie “Buster” Uriegas, Jr.

June 10, 1950 ~ December 2, 2008



Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4, 2008 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Willie “Buster” Uriegas, Jr., 58, who died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 9 a.m. until services on Thursday, December 4, a rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Neille Touchet

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008, at a 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Nellie Ann Broussard Touchet, 70, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 5:00 AM at Southwest Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. 

Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.  Giftbearers will be Dorothy Touchet, Doris Touchet, Rhonda Touchet, and Patricia Broussard.  Lectors will be Nichole T. Simon and Barbara T. Gallier.  Rachel Gaspard, soloist, accompanied by Jodi Bollich organist, will sing “Amazing Grace”, “How Wonderful the Body of Christ”, “Ave Maria”, “Wherever You Go” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” for the services. 

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Joseph Norris Touchet of Judice;  two sons, Kirk Touchet of Judice and Kelly Touchet and his wife Janetta of Maurice;  one daughter, Lenie T. Doucet and her husband Glenn of Lake Charles;  two step grandchildren, Jessica D. Matthis and her husband Derrick of Lake Charles and Seaman Apprentice Jared Doucet, stationed in San Diego, CA;  and three step great granddaughters, MaKenzy, MaKenna and Peyton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Lenie Labit Broussard;  two brothers, Walter LeBlanc and Reno Broussard;  and three sisters, Rena B. Dubois, Margaret B. Landry and Lola B. Vincent.

A native of Erath and a resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Nellie Touchet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be her brother-in-law, E. Dave Touchet;  her nephews, John Touchet, Charles Touchet;  her great nephews, Jamey Touchet and Gifford Saravia;  and a family friend, Gene LeBlanc.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Patrick Broussard, Ross Landry and Mitchell Vincent.

A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. 

The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
