A 42-year-old Eunice man decided to flee rather than face possible traffic tickets. Two attempted murders later he's looking at more than City Court fines.

A City Police unit attempted to stop Robert Guillory, of 650 College Road, shortly after 9 p.m. Friday, after observing an apparent traffic violation.

Rather than pull over, Guillory, police said, took off, fleeing down Fuselier, then College Road at a high rate of speed.

He turned onto Sittig, police units in pursuit, where he eventually ran off the road and into a field near the city's firing range, where he left his stuck car and ran away.

A few minutes later he was arrested and subsequently booked on 13 counts.

Charges against Guillory include:

No insurance, no license plates, expired motor vehicle inspection, driving under suspension, two counts ran stop sign, reckless operation, flight from an officer, resisting an officer, criminal trespass, simple criminal damage to property and two counts of attempted first-degree murder as a result of actions during the chase.
