St. Martinville -- On Nov. 20, 2008, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office located an unidentified body in an Southern Bay oil field outside the city limits of St. Martinville. The body has now been identified through the use of DNA analysis as Jules Mallery Jr., 29, of St. Martinville.

Mallery was wanted by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office in connection with an incident that occurred on Oct. 19 whereby two victims were kidnapped and sexually assaulted at gunpoint.

One of the two victims suffered a gun shot wound and was subsequently hospitalized.

The autopsy report revealed that the cause of death of Mallery was a self -inflicted gunshot wound.
