Interment followed at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2.
The Rev. Louis Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiated at the funeral service. Readers were Kristie Hebert and Kimberly Ruiz.
Judy was employed by the St. Martin Parish School Board for 25 years as a bus driver and was a member of the Transportation Committee. During that time, she had the privilege of driving the Breaux Bridge High School Football team to their games, in which she took great pride in doing. Judy had previously coached summer league baseball and softball. She enjoyed playing pokeno and horse racing.
Judy is survived by two daughters, Dana Calais and her husband Chris of Cecilia and Susan Addison and her husband Kenneth Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Allison Blanchard of Breaux Bridge; one brother, Don “Coyote” Cormier and his wife Sandra of Parks; two sisters, Melba Fontenot of Parks and Patsy Thibodeaux and her companion Ray Robin of Breaux Bridge; and six grandchildren, Brielle Blanchard of St. Martinville, Amber Addison of Breaux Bridge, Ryi Calais of Cecilia, Jordan Addison of Breaux Bridge, and Hagen Calais and Jansen Calais, both of Cecilia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abel “Jim” Blanchard; her son, Torey J. Blanchard; a grandson, Brylin Jude Blanchard; and her parents, Evans and Duella “Noon” Courville Cormier.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Pallbearers were Jordan Addison, Ryi Calais, John Fontenot, T-Mark Thibodeaux, Dean Blanchard and Frank Verret.
Honorary pallbearers were Skipper Thibodeaux, Troy Thibodeaux, Teddy Thibodeaux, Dwarren Olivier, Bentley Bijeaux and all of her “school bus driver friends.”
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
