HONORED COUPLE AND FAMILY - During a special 50th wedding anniversary social, Leonard and Kay Baer Weidner were honored for their 50 years of marriage.
HONORED COUPLE AND FAMILY - During a special 50th wedding anniversary social, Leonard and Kay Baer Weidner were honored for their 50 years of marriage.
They were married in Rayne, at St. Joseph Catholic Church on February 7, 1959.
Leonard was in the Air Force and Kay was employed as a phone operator when they met in Lake Charles.
Leonard is retired from the Air Force and also retired from the United State Postal Service.
Kay also is a retired postal worker. She spent many years employed by Sears as a customer service representative.
Leonard and Kay have four children, daughter Sandra and husband Lee Lovett of Shelbyville, IL; son Vincent and wife Karen Weidner of Ponder, Texas; daughter Kimberly and husband Albani Laporte of Pflugerville, Texas; and daughter Jill Stevens of Lewisville, Texas.
They are also the proud grandparents of nine grandchildren.
Leonard and Kay have had many adventures in travel during their 50 years of marriage. They have lived in many states during Leonard’s Air Force career, and have also traveled to Europe and Alaska.
Their children hosted an anniversary party and dinner celebration on December 28, 2008 in their honor at their son’s home in Ponder, Texas when the family could be together during the holidays.
Leonard and Kay will be visiting Alburquerqe, NM during their anniversary.
