The TAKE DAT SACALAIT Tourny got off to a good start on Wednesday March 11, 2009.<!--break--> The winds where blowing out of the north and the little drizzling rain was a little cool, but we still had 13 boats show up for the fun of fishing, and while we where at it we all said to only come in with the 3 fish to weigh and keep them alive so we can release them right now during the spawn, in this way we can help.

1st Mitch and Laurette Mequet
from Henderson with 3.15

2nd Darrell Rabeaux and Buddy Billeaud
from Lafayette with 3.08

3rd Cory Comeaux and Ronnie Gathe
from Carencro with 2.94

4th Kevin Morgan and Tiedric Deville
from Cecilia with 2.64

5th Jimmy Menard and Andy Slovacek
from Broussard with 2.31

Big Fish went to Darrell and Buddy with
a 1.58 slab

trash Fish went to Laurette and Mitch
we a bowfin choupique @2.01

we all got wet but had lots of fun.

most of the fish came out of Opelousas Bay, Butte LaRose Canal, and Atoytoy, most anglers used black/chart., mardi gras, and sliver and chart., fish about 6 inches under the cypress trees. The Bass fishing is fair but a few short ones being caught in the willow mounds and in Atoytoy, use pumpkin color jigs and june bug. The Bream have not started yet.
Bayou Amy is still producing some sacalait and some bass.

Thanks Laurette Mequet
