More than two years after his arrest in a nine-year-old case, a Eunice man is scheduled for trial on a charge of first-degree murder.

Nelson Lee Lafleur, 38 at the time of his arrest in February 2007, is charged with killing Naomi Green, 35 at the time of her death in April 1998.

Jury selection for his trial is scheduled for July 13 in Judge James Doherty’s court.

Lafleur was arrested when fingerprints and DNA obtained on an unrelated charged in another jurisdiction linked him to the 1998 crime scene.

Green’s stabbed and assaulted body was found in an abandoned house on Olivia Street on April 10, 1998.
