CROWLEY – Crowley Police have arrested a Crowley man and have charged him with forcible rape and other criminal charges in connection with an April 7th incident.

Officers with the Crowley Police Department began an investigation regarding a complaint of a rape. The investigation revealed that the defendant held the victim against her will with a weapon. The defendant then drove to an isolated area where the defendant then forcefully assaulted the victim.

Crowley Police have arrested Nathaniel D. Harmon, 29, of Crowley. Harmon has been charged with forcible rape, 2nd degree kidnapping and unauthorized use of a moveable. Harmon has also been charged with two other outstanding warrants from other incidents.

“It’s unfortunate that in the past few weeks that we have had such an increase in violent crimes,” said Crowley Chief of Police K.P. Gibson. “I just want our citizens to know that the Crowley Police Department is out there and we will use every means at our disposal to apprehend people such as this who use violence as a means to commit their crimes.”

Judge M’elise Trahan has set bond at $155,000. Harmon has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
