The home of Susan Christ in Eunice was the setting for a bridal shower held in March, in honor ofNicole Marie Bergeron of St. Martinville, bride-elect of Jules Menou Bruchez, Jr. of Lafayette.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Chester and Brenda Bergeron of St. Martinville. Her maternal grandparents are the late Paul Pierret Sr. and Ament Lasseigne, and paternal grandparents are Lester and Mae Bergeron of St. Martinville.

The groom-elect is the son of Nell LaCasse Bruchez and the late Jules Menou Bruchez Sr. of Iota. His maternal grandparents are Luna LaCasse of Iota and the late Harry LaCasse. Paternal grandparents are Yvonne Bruchez of Iota and the late Raymond Bruchez.

Hosting the shower were Shana Fickes, Chris LeJeune, Susan Christ, Brooke Hebert, Amanda Stewart, Kath Doyle, Patty LaCasse, Jean Potier, Michelle Simar and Lori Sattler.

For the occasion, the bride-to-be was attired in a strapless brown dress. The mother of the honoree chose a green, knee-length dress, while the mother of the groom-elect was attired in a white blouse accented with black flowers and coordinating pinstripe pants.

The afternoon social was held outside among beautiful flowers, plants and old pine trees. Refreshment tables were accented with magnificent vases filled with white branches and shells where doves hung for each family to take home and plant.

Attending guests enjoyed refreshments of peanut butter brownies, fruit trays, red velvet cake, peanut butter balls, pralines, sweet potato casserole, ice cream cake and beverages to include water, tea, coffee, punch and champagne.

Thirty-five guests traveled from areas such as St. Martinville, Parks, Plaquemine, Evangeline, Iota and Crowley.

The couple was married during a 1 p.m. ceremony held Friday, May 1, 2009 in Navarre Beach, Florida.
