Karris Johnson, bride-elect of Jed Toups, both of Rayne, was named honoree of a bridal brunch held in her honor in Rayne.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Albert and Bonnie Johnson of Rayne.

The prospective groom is the son of Joan Hodges Toups and the late John “Butch” Toups of Basile. Hosting the bridal brunch were Diana Duhon, Kathy Richard, Judy Puissegur, Trish Greene, Linda Guilbeau, Sandy Elkins, Liz Guidry, Norellie Fontenot, Merella McFalls and Kristina Lavergne.

Guests were served a variety of brunch refreshments, including breakfast bread, brownies, petit foures, donuts, tea biscuits, fruit tray, mini muffins, breakfast casserole and a variety of beverages.

For the special occasion, Miss Johnson wore a black and white sundress with yellow accessories.

The honoree’s mother wore a fuschia pants suit with black accents, while the prospective groom’s mother selected a two-piece beige and ivory ensemble.

Guests attended from Rayne, Crowley, Lafayette, Eunice, Basile, Morgan City and Baton Rouge.

Special guests in attendance were the bride-elect’s grandmothers, Matilda Johnson and Rita Melancon.

Karris and Jed will be married on Friday, June 12, during a six-thirty evening wedding ceremony at St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by a reception at The Crown Room in Lafayette.
