Kristy Curleee, a 27-year-old blonde beauty of Roanoke, was crowned the 2009 Ms. Frog Festival Queen on Sunday, July 12, during the annual pageant held at the Rayne Civic Center Ballroom.

The new royalty is the mother of one daughter, Kyleigh Curlee, and her husband is Shane Curlee.

Kristy was crowned by the 2008 honoree, Summer Parker.

Named 1st Alternate was Jean Maffit of Lake Charles, and Courtney Fontenot of Breaux Bridge was named 2nd Alternate.

Named Miss Congeniality was Jeanna Dupree of Rayne, and Jean Maffit was awarded Most Photogenic.

Completing the list of contestants was Desirea Riana Pelafigue of Lafayette.

Director/coordinator of the annual pageant is Vicki Meaux, with Kelly Meaux serving as co-director.

Little Sisters presenting roses to the contestants were Addison Easterling, Emma LaVergne and Kyleigh Curlee.

Judges for the 2009 event were Jamie Hebert, Pam Courmier and Veatchel Courmier.

Erin Canik served as mistress of ceremonies, and Kade Stutes led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Special guests in attendance were Jim Meaux, past president of LAFF; Nikki Link, Rayne Chamber of Commerce treasurer; and Tessa Dischler, 2007 event royalty.

Entertainment was provided by the Project Dance Competition Team under the direction of Nikki Link.
