Funeral services were held at Indian Bayou Methodist Church, Monday, August 17, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. for David Lee Stutes, 79, who died Saturday, August 15, 2009, in Regional Medical Center, Lafayette.

Interment was in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery, Indian Bayou.

He was born Thursday, January 30, 1930, in Indian Bayou, the son Son of the late Curtis and the late Edna Faulk Stutes.

Surviving are wife, Velma  H.  Stutes of Indian Bayou; two sons, Randy Stutes of Indian Bayou, and Darwin “Bub” Stutes, of Indian Bayou; two daughters, Darlene Bares of Erath, and Monica Semmes, of Indian Bayou; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Stutes and Edna Faulk Stutes; one sister, Katherine Stutes Morgan; and one brother, Dalton Gene Stutes.

Friends were received Sunday, August 16, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday, August 17, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. until service at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne.
