SPAETGENS FIRST COUSINS held a family reunion on Aug. 1 at the home of Stella Spaetgens Morgan in Roberts Cove, hosted by Stella and Jana Spaetgens Zaunbrecher. The cousins are the grandchildren of H.Leo and Elizabeth Gossen Spaetgens of Rayne, and the children of H. Joseph and Bertha Spaetgens, Marie and Bruce Broussard, Leo and Rudy Spaetgens, Tony and Joyce Spaetgens, Lawrence and Carol Spaetgens, Charles and Barbara Spaetgens and Allie and Calvin Caillier. Deceased family memorials were set up for Mike Thibodeaux, Barbara Spaetgens, Calvin Caillier, Billy Wright, Mary Morgan Spaetgens, H. Joseph Spaetgens, Ray Comeaux and Carol Spaetgens. Everyone enjoyed visiting, finger foods and a DVD made by Celeste Henry featuring the younger days of the first cousins.
