A 2 p.m. wedding ceremony planned for this weekend on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, will unite in marriage Elia Noehmi Garcia Avila of Marceka, Honduras and Shannon Guthrie of Rayne. The 2 p.m. wedding will be held at Philadelphia Church in Colonia, Armania followed by a reception at Safe Haven Compond in LaCieba, Honduras.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Midian Garcia and Matide Avila of Marceka, Honduras.

The prospective groom is the son of Julia Guthrie of Rayne ad the late Sherrell Guthrie. His grandparents are the late Julia Davidson and John C. Davidson, the late Agnes Lalonde and John Lalonde. He is a 1981 graduate of Rayne High School and serves as a missionary for Honduras for Hands to the World.

Following their wedding, the couple plans to reside in LaCieba, Honduras.
