	Memorial services for William Aucoin, age 84, who passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 4:00 a.m. at his residence in Washington, will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Melancon Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas.	

Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Albert Nunez, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church in Washington, will officiate at the services.
		
Mr. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Washington. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served his country during WWII. He retired with Slemco after 34 years of service and was a member of the American Legion. 
	
Survivors include one daughter, Judy McBride of Washington; three grandchildren, Rebecca Davis and her husband, Scott, of Duluth, Minnesota, William John McBride of Opelousas, and William Charles Aucoin and his wife, Karla, of Youngsville; and five great grandchildren.
	
He was preceded in death by his parents, Geneus Aucoin and the former Marie Chiasson; his wife, Maude Domingue; one son, William Gene Aucoin; one daughter, Patricia Maude Aucoin Clements; four brothers, Jaque Aucoin, Issaac Aucoin, Dudley Phillip Aucoin, and Julien Aucoin; and five sisters, Emerette Aucoin Thibodeaux, Ida Aucoin Martin, Edmonia Aucoin LeBlanc, Leah Aucoin Lopez, and Lillian Aucoin.

The family has requested that visitation be observed from 8:00 a.m. until service time Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Melancon Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas.
