Funeral services were  held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Saturday, December 19, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. for Edwill Cormier Mire, 93, who died Wednesday, December 16, 2009, in Rayne Guest Home.
Interment  was in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne.
Surviving are two daughters, Mildred Hernandez and husband, Farris, of Lafayette, and Virlee Mouton of Baton Rouge; two sons, Ravis “Ray” Mire and wife, Priscilla, of Baton Rouge, and Larry Mire and wife, Kerie, of Rayne, thirteen grandchildren; twenty- four great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Mire; parents, Roman Cormier and Amelia Sonnier Cormier; and one sister, Laura Guidry.
She was born Tuesday, October 17, 1916 in Acadia Parish to the late Roman Cormier and the late Amelia Sonnier Cormeir.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home.
Friends were received Saturday, December 19, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne.
