The Rayne home of Darrell and Lisa Soileaux served as the setting on Saturday, March 20, 2010 for a patio social and engagement party in honor of their daughter, Leslee Ann Soileaux of Nashville, Tenn., and her fiancée, Samuel Major Gagliano of Auburn, Ala.

The prospective groom is the son of Paul and Linda Gagliano of Peachtree City, Ga.

Serving as hosts for the evening social in celebration of the couple’s recent engagement were the bride-elect’s parents, Darrell and Lisa Soileaux of Rayne; the bride-elect’s godparents and their spouses, Henry and Michelle Soileaux of Rayne and Janice and Thomas Stutes of Crowley; and the bride-elect’s great-uncle, Larry Smith of Rayne.

Guests were treated to crawfish etouffee, crawfish and corn machu, potato soup, a special cake created for the event, and a number of finger foods and beverages.

The reception area of the patio was highlighted by patio lights. The beverage area and table were noted with decorative wine decor with a multitude of refreshments displayed in a ice-filled canoe against a backdrop of house plants and summer blooms.

Approximately 30 guests were in attendance from Rayne, Crowley, Lafayette, Church Point, Monroe, and points of Georgia and Alabama.

Special guests in attendance were the bride-elect’s grandparents, Marilyn Soileaux of Rayne, Lorraine and Robert Myers of Crowley, and Jimmy and Peggy Smith of Rayne.

For the special event, the bride-elect wore a sleeveless, kelly green, overlap sheath dress sewn with a herringbone construction at the bib. It was gathered at the natural waist with a narrow brown belt and topped with a short-sleeve white sweater.

Leslee and Sam will be married on Saturday, July 31, 2010 during a 2 p.m. Nuptial Mass at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Rayne, followed by a reception at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne.
