Signmund “Sig” Julius Baer, 74, died June 20, 2010, at his residence in Woodlake, Texas.

He was born November 2, 1935, in Rayne.

A memorial service was given in his honor in Houston, Texas, on June 25, 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Ritmanich Baer of Woodland, Texas; two daughters, Teri Syner and her husband, Larry, and Michelle Dove, all of Woodland, Texas; a granddaughter, Summer and her husband, Coy Bullock; two grandsons, Chad Dove and his wife, Andrea, and Brad Dove; great-grandchildren, Cali, Nash and Savannah Dove, and Elisa, Branson and Savannah Bullock; two brothers, Bernard of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Max Baer of Lafayette; sisters, Pat Domingue and Jo Ann Rpodrigue, both of Port Arthur, Texas, and Yvonne Gary of Trinity, Texas, and Kay and Leonard Weidner of Aubrey, Texas; many nieces and nephews and a life-long friend, Ben Babineaux of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jeanne Baer; a son, Bobby Baer, two brothers, Philip Baer of Lafayette and L.H. Baer of Mobile, Ala.; and sisters, Miriam Richard of Rayne and Margaret McGrew of Lafayette.
