Maternal grandparents-to-be are Anne F. and Donnie Gaspard of Crowley.
Paternal grandarents-to-be are Margaret L. and Malcolm Doucet of Rayne.
Hosting the pre-arrival event were Anne Gaspard, Ali G. Meaux, Emily G. Cart, Claire G. Corsino, Mona M. Mouton, and Margaret, Melissa, Marci, Mary Kathryn and Maggie Doucet.
Guests were provided a variety of refreshments, including pinwheel sandwiches, meatballs, assorted cheeses and fruit, red velvet bon bons, black bean salsa, cheesecake bites, brownies, coffe and punch,
A specical shower cake was also provided. The confection was a white on white cake featuring a delicate baby carriage design filled with white chocolate amaretto-strawberry filling.
Approximately 60 family members and friends were in attendance, including a special guest, Dot O. Leger, paternal great-grandmother-to-be.
The new family member, the couple’s first child is expected to arrive July 25, 2010.
Earlier, the father-to-be was given a diaper party to celebrate the upcoming birth of their first child.
The mid-day social was held Sunday, July 11, at the home of the father-to-be’s paternal grandmother, Dot O. Leger.
Hosting the event were Zach Zaunbrecher, Scott Richard and Malcolm Doucet, paternal grandfather-to-be.
Approximately 25 friends attended the unique social, each presenting a bag of diapers for the expected bundle of joy.
Guests enjoyed swimming, tennis, ping pong, washer boards and pool, along with barbecue hamburgers, side dishes and beverages.
