CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, July 30, 2010 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Willie Wilbert Istre, 89, who died July 29, 2010 at Southwind Nursing Home.

Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family requested visiting hours to be held Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to the time of service on Friday. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

He is survived by one son, Leonard Istre and his wife, Justine; four grandchildren, Monique Istre, Monty Istre and his wife, Natacha, Tonya Istre and Bryan Istre and his wife, Shelley; four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Payton, Kade and Britt Istre; and companion and friend Ethel LeJeune.

Mr. Istre is preceded in death by his wife, Elbia Hebert Istre; one son, Willie R. Istre; and three sisters, Zula LeJeune, Anise Broussard and Zora Black.
