BREAUX BRIDGE – Theives broke into Crazy Bout Crawfish, a restaurant located on Rees Street in Breaux Bridge, at around 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4.

They stole over 100 pounds of frozen crawfish, 30 pounds of alligator and 50 pounds of shrimp, leaving the frezzer empty.

Also missing was bottles of Crown Royal and beer. Deanna Welch, owner of the restaurant said that she had just received a delivery of 50 pounds of crawfish the day before.

With prices of seafood going up because of the oil spill in the gulf, this is a huge loss for Welch.

The theives are believed to have removed the electric meter in an attempt to disarm the alarm. They gained access to the inside of the building by breaking the glass on the side door.

Anyone with information about this robbery should contact the Breaux Bridge Police at 332-2186.
