He was born September 30, 1924 in Rayne to Anatole and Etta Hulin gary. He married Lorraine McGill on April 15, 1945, in Palo Alto, California. She died January 1, 2001.
He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He worked as a general contractor, building homes in the Bay area and as superintendent in the construction of the Great America Theme Park.
Survivors include a daughter, Antoinette Mills and husband, Dennis of San Jose, California; two sons, William “Bill” Gary and wife, Jane, of Eugene, Oregon and Michael Gary and wife, Jane, of Hidden Valley Lake, California; three sisters, Jeanette Mazeres and husband, Reginals, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Marie Benoit and husband, Obrey “Toboy”, of Rayne, and Bertha LaComb and husband, Joe, of Rayne; one brother, Wilton Gary and wife, Marcella, of Rayne; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife; his stepmother, Katie Gary; two sisters, Delta G. Taylor and Geraldine “Jerry” Hicks; and two brothers, Amie Gary and Joseph Gills Gary.
Arrangements were entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene, Oregon, with remebrances to Cascade Manor Foundation, Eugene Oregon.
