RAYNE - Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Norbert A. Thevis, 72, who passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at 11:40 pm at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley. Fr. Clint Trahan will be officiating the services and he will be assisted by Norbert’s nephew, Rev. Landy Mizell of Loxatchee, Florida.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Betty Morgan Thevis of Crowley; two brothers, Raymond Thevis, Sr. of Rayne and Edward and wife Sally Thevis of Lafayette; one sister, Antonia T. Hoffpauir of Rayne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Norbert is preceded in death by his parents, Hubard and Maria Ohlenforst Thevis; one brother, Hebert “Jackie” Thevis; one nephew, Dwayne Thevis; one sister in law, Eunice Thevis; and one brother in law, Lloyd L. Hoffpauir, Sr.

Visitation was Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. till 9 p.m. and will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday. A Rosary was recited on Monday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
