Markus spent his entire life in Crowley and had only recently moved to Lafayette. He was a great son, brother and uncle, loved by all and known for his compassion and charity. He was always grateful for the acts of kindness shown to him from others, and shared all he had with whoever was in need. All who knew him loved Markus and he will be greatly missed.
Markus is survived by his mother, Irene Stoute of Lafayette; his father and stepmother, Dennis and Wanita Stoute of Crowley; sister Rebecca Benoit Haaland and her husband, Day, of Scott; sister Betsy Stoute, of Lafayette; brother, Bobby Stoute and his wife, Tavia, of Iota; six nephews; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Stoute Leger; brother Michael Ryan; and nephew Matthew Leger.
The family wishes to thank the ER and ICU at Lafayette General for their outstanding care for Markus and for their kindness and consideration to the family.
The family requests that visitation be observed from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, with services beginning at 10 a.m.
