JENNINGS - Funeral services for Henry Lee Drake, 48, will be held at St. Paulís Baptist Church in Jennings on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Craig Sam officiating. Henry was called to his Heavenly father Monday evening from Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette while surrounded by his beloved family. The Drake family request visitation be observed at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of his services. Henry will be laid to rest in Silverwood Cemetery.

Henry Lee was born in Lafayette to Emily Duphichan and the late Samuel Drake in September of 1961. He was a welder by trade and enjoyed playing dominos and riding motorcycles. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Leaving behind to mourn his loss and cherish his memories are his mother, Emily D. Drake of Jennings; seven children, Henry Lee Hunter Sr., Demarkus Thomas, Darius Thomas, Tawanna Thomas, Kadeaja Thomas, Angailiqua Thomas, and Mikayla Thomas all of Crowley; 11 brothers, Brian Drake of Humble, Texas, Kenneth Drake, Samuel Drake Jr, Eddie Collins, Raymond Collins, Judson Collins, and Paul Drake all of Crowley, Samuel Drake and Steve Allen of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Trevor Allen of Texas, and Donald Lazard of Frisco, Cal.; nine sisters, Margaret Drake of Morgan City, Barbara Onezine and Donna Collins both of Crowley, Katrina Smith of Lafayette, Signora Carmouche of Baltimore, Md., April Drake, Marie Beverly, and Louwilda Arceneaux all of Crowley, and Stephine Hicks of Lafayette; and his five grandchildren, Jahmari Bias, Henry Hunter, Jr., Tyrese Hunter, Aliyalo Hunter, and Darius Jennings.

Henry now rest in Heaven with his father, Samuel Drake; sister, Brenda Thomson; and brother, Jessie Collins.
