Funeral Services were Monday, September 6, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. at The Assumption Church in Mire for Dorothy C. Trahan, 84, who passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 10:00 p.m. at the home of her daughter in Jennings. 

Very Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington officiated her services.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty and husband, Charles Saunier, of Delcambre, Debra and husband, Jim Fontenot, of Jennings and Susan and husband, Michael Landry, of Erath; three brothers, Mattrice Cormier of Lafayette, Melvin Cormier of Duson and Donald Cormier of Lake Charles; one siste,r Lula Mae Veronie of Maurice; seven grandchildren, Scottie Saunier, Cory Fontenot, Karrie “Tater” Broussard, Stacy Porche, Tara Menard, Kristy Domingue and Blake Landry; and eight great-grand-children, Bryan Fontenot, Tristin Menard, Ranie Menard, Cole Domingue, Andre’ Saunier, Bryce Fontenot, Reese Domingue and Ashlyn Porche.

Ms. Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis C. Trahan; her second husband, Gabriel “Gab” Trahan; one infant son, Bradley Trahan; one grandson, Jeremy Fontenot; her parents, Calice and Flavia Cormier; two brothers, Ferman Cormier and Grifford Cormier; and one sister, Ruby Venable.

Ms. Dorothy was a member of Assumption Catholic Church Lady’s Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters for many years.

Pallbearers for her services were Scottie Sauiner, Cory Fontenot, Kimo Broussard, Blake Landry, Dominic Menard, and Dwain Domingue.

Honorary Pall bearers for her services were Donald Cormier, Matt Cormier, Melvin Cormier and Larry Romero.

Visitation was Sunday 6:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. then 8:00 a.m. till time of services on Monday.

 A Rosary was recited Monday at 9:00 in the morning at the Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. 

Burial was in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home, L.L.C. of Rayne.
