CROWLEY - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010, 10 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church for Merline Chaisson Goss, 72 who passed away at her home in Crowley on September 18th, 2010, following a lengthy bout with a Parkinson’s related disease. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Fr. Gary Schexnayder will celebrate the Mass and the committal services at the Woodlawn Cemetery. The visiting hours were held on Monday from noon to 9 p.m. A rosary was recited Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Goss is survived by her husband Ken Goss Sr.; sons, Ken Goss Jr., and his wife Kalynn and their children Connor, Ashley and Brennan, Kevin Goss and his wife Leslie and their daughters Lauren and Leah, Mike Goss and his wife DeAnn and their sons Michael Jr. and Ryan; daughter Jeanine Goss Donahue and her husband Shawn Donahue and their daughters Camyrn, Mallory, Shelby and Sarah; and one brother Don Chaisson and his wife Marlene.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Easton and Ella Chaisson.

She was born on October 9, 1938 in Gueydan. Mrs. Goss retired as a legal secretary after many years having first worked for the Veterans Service Office, then a local law firm and later for the Judges of the 15th Judicial District.

Mrs. Goss was a loving mother who adored her children and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their endeavors and at sporting events. She enjoyed traveling and was an accomplished baker and enjoyed making cakes and pastries for her family and friends.
