The events started with “Paint the Town Red” this past Sunday. Four businesses downtown served as host for the school’s event. Each class created a slogan, i.e. “Sizzle the Saints,” and painted it. The window decor has and will remain up all week.
On Thursday, September 23 the weekend’s events begin.
The school’s homecoming parade will begin rolling through Crowley at 5:30 p.m. The route begins along the Crowley Court Circle near Ruddock’s bakery and heads north on North Parkerson, taking a right on Northern Avenue and then right on Eastern, ending at Notre Dame at 6 p.m. for their annual chili cook off. Notre Dame’s pep rally will be held at school also at 6 p.m.
Friday night Notre Dame has an alumni reception scheduled for the classes of 1971, 1981, 1991 and 2001. That reception, slated for 6 p.m. will lead into Notre Dame’s homecoming game versus St. Louis at 7 p.m. At halftime, the Pios will name their 2010 Homecoming Queen.
Member’s of this year’s court are Tommie Anzalone, Caroline Berry, Caitlyn Bush, Caroline Cassedy, Mayme Cook, Leslie Guidry, Dakota Henry, Halie Joubert, Ellen Leonards, Caroline Nickel, Sarah Nickel and Jesslyn Zaunbrecher.
Saturday night’s homecoming dance at the Rayne Civic Center from 8-11 p.m. will wrap up Notre Dame High School’s homecoming week.
