Funeral services were held Tuesday September 28, 2010 ,at 10:00 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne.
Father Allen Breaux, associate Pastor of Sts Peter and Paul in Scott, officiated.
Stafford served five years in the Korean War and was also deployed to Japan. He was a member of the American Legion (Arceneaux Post 77) in Rayne.
Stafford was a loyal, devoted friend and husband who left behind wonderful life- long memories to his wife of 48 years, Laura C. Thomas. He was also a loving and caring father who is survived by five children, Shane and Jamie Thomas of Duson, Debbie and Mike Boykin of Seems Ala., Katherine Thomas of Delcambre, Kenneth Thomas of Baton Rouge; and one step daughter Linda Chatman of Scott; twenty grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Amanda Thibodeaux Thomas; one son, Mike Thomas; five brothers, Lloyd Thomas, Ray Thomas, Blanc Thomas, Ellis Thomas, and Milton Thomas; two sisters, Verna Thomas and Vergie Abshire.
Pallbearers were Shane Thomas, Kenneth Thomas, Harry Comeaux, Rodney Comeaux, Mike Boykin, and Clifton Abshire.
He will be truly missed.
Visitation was held Monday, September 27, 2010, at Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of Services.
Burial was in the St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Duson under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.
